Dawn and Mathilde (Longbow) Medals: Ten Lytchett archers attended this year’s Absent Friends shoot at Bracken Archery Club — an excellent turnout and a very strong representation for the club. Bracken is one of our local Dorset clubs and an ideal choice for archers experiencing their first away competition. Date: 12.04.26 Distance from Bowmen of Lytchett: Approx. 1 hour 30 mins Participants: Lewis, Zoe and Mike H (Recurve) Darryn, Geoff and Mike Y (Longbow) Medals: Despite some rather ominous skies, the Andover Saxon 2026 proved to be far from the washout that the forecast threatened. Indeed, the shoot enjoyed largely sunny conditions, albeit with a blustery breeze that kept archers on their toes throughout the day. A strong tailwind in the morning had a habit of lifting arrows higher than planned, and we did experience a couple of heavy showers around lunchtime.
